The Sad State Of The Ultra Modern Sports Complex In Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Multipurpose Sports Center

A viral video which is reported to be part of the president of Ghana’s (Nana Addo Dankwah) initiative of constructing multipurpose sports complex across the nation is in a deplorable state causing financial loss to the nation.

The sports complex is reported to be at Nyinahin, The hometown of the sports minister in the Ashanti Region which was commissioned in 2020 before the general election.

Other reports proves that, The government of Ghana spent over $2.5m as a budget in constructing those sports complexes around the country.

The ten (10) newly built Multipurpose sports centers includes;

1. East Legon Stadium
2. Volta Region – Ho
3. Eastern Region -Koforidua
4. Ashanti Region – Nyinahin
5. Western Region – AXIM
6. Central Region – Dunkwa Offin
7. Brong Ahafo – Dormaa Ahenkro
8. Upper West – Wa
9. Upper East – Navrongo
10. Northern region – Yendi
11. The University of Ghana sport stadium ( abounded yrs ago).
