TTU: Vice Chancellor To Fire Lecturers over COVID-19 Protocols

Vice Chancellor of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU), Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun has threatened to fire any lecturer or staff of the university who breaches any COVID-19 preventive protocol on campus.

The Vice Chancellor at an emergency convocation meeting today at the university’s meeting today, stressed that the President’s directive on COVID-19 regarding the administration of all schools including the tertiary institutions in the country are expected to be adhered to strictly.

“I will not let the President fire me because of your negligence, I’d rather fire you first” Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun emphasized.

The meeting was triggered when news went viral of a breach of the social distancing protocol at a final year BTech ICT class yesterday.

The VC indicated that there are no reason for any lecturer to fail on his/her obligation to adhere to the protocols.

He said government has made delivery of sufficient Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), “and we’ve even procured additional additional ones to complement it”.

In terms of lecture theater space, the school has quiet sizable and conducive ones to support learning without breaching the preventive protocols.
