Wode maya as populary known in the world of content creation in Africa, Is a young Ghanaian officially known as Kobina Ackon Berthold.
He had his senior high school education at Bompeh Senior High and Technical School in Takoradi. Wode Maya proceeded to the KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY but he had a Schorlaship to study at the UK.
Unfortunately he was denied Visa.
Through recommendation from his uncle about China , He applied for a scholarship and just in two weeks everything was successful.
During his first three months stay in China, he was able to learn the Chinese language because his school was on vacation when he arrived.
Wode Maya as a Youtuber started with China -Africa relationship as his content but according to him, it was not easy for a young boy at his age to bring out such information.
In addition, He got intimidated by some colleagues and others considering his looks so it took him about two(2) years to get one thousand (1k) subscribers on YouTube.
“My mum was the only person who approved my presence on YouTube that’s why I named my channel as WODE MAYA”.
He became the first Blackman in China to acquire 100k subscribers on YouTube.
Speaking little about his experience in China, He was a lecturer whiles a student in the university due to his good foundation in Mathematics.He also sold hotdogs to keep up his stay there.
Wode maya holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
As a genius Youtuber from onset, His core dream is to make the world know the good things in Africa, from culture, tourist sites, Prominent Africans across the world and the innovative projects in Africa.
He has been able to win the cooperate world as well visiting all the expensive places in Ghana and some part of Africa. His contents has led him to meet personalities like Ex President of Ghana , John Agyekum Kuffuor.
Currently in Ghana, Wode Maya is the highest paid Youtuber and the youngest to travel many African Countries.
